About me
I majored in School Wellness Education and minored in Adapted Physical Activity at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and I received my masters in Adapted Physical Education at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. I've taught elementary and secondary general PE Pennsylvania. I taught and provided direct Adapted PE Services to k-12 students in Wisconsin and Virginia. I was recently published in Teaching Exceptional Children for Teaching Self-Protection to students with disabilities. In addition, I've run multiple disability sport and recreation programs such as Blind Ice Hockey, Adapted Sports League, Self-Protection classes, Wheelchair Rugby, and more. I now work for Grant Wood Area Education Agency as the Adapted Physical Education Consultant. I now get to help educate Physical Education teachers on the best practices to teach their students with disabilities, through Professional Development, trainings, individual coaching sessions, Equipment check-out library, and more.
