Have you hosted or thought about hosting a "Family PE Week"? Come learn tips and strategies for inviting your community in to see your program! Attendees will leave with a plan to host next school year and advocate for their program in a completely new way.
This session will describe apps and programs that address classroom management, behavior management, activities, feedback and assessment, and delivering instruction.
The Character Development and Leadership PE Program is designed to purposefully and intentionally teach middle and high school students how to have strong character and become an effective leader in the context of physical education classes, team sports and down the road of life. This program will delve into 30 core principles of character, such as integrity, respect, responsibility, and empathy, and how these traits enhance both personal growth and team success. We will provide participants with daily 2-5 minute activities that can be immediately implemented in PE classes and sports teams. By the end of this presentation, participants will be equipped with the tools and insights needed to deliver strong ethical skills within their physical education classes, setting the stage for a lifetime of personal and professional success. All participants will receive a copy of the book, "Sports Role Models."
Many coaches possess the teaching abilities that lead to positive participant experiences in sports and can grow their careers into the athletics administration field. To equip yourself with good program management and communication practices, take time for guided reflection on what you are doing to collaborate effectively, engage in mentoring, and sustain success. This session will explore how you might make the most of opportunities to elevate your skills for an interscholastic athletics and activities leadership position as you outline a plan for professional development that prepares you to offer additional service to the students in your school and the stakeholders in your community.
